Who we are

Mecklai Financial Services Pvt. Ltd. is the leading FX risk management consulting company in India, having pioneered this business more than 50 years ago. With offices at four locations across India, we deliver customized solutions, backed by our proprietary risk management approach, high quality market research and robust technology processes.

In addition to our established presence in currency, commodity and interest rate risk management, our advisory services extend to other key areas of corporate finance, such as debt structuring, credit risk insurance and cash management.

We provide clients with unparalleled knowledge of markets, including information on spot and forward rates and, importantly, how these are likely to move, as well as volatility patterns and how they are likely to change. We use this market understanding to help companies build business-specific risk management frameworks to enable them to make optimal use of markets.


 

Technology, which has always been a key support driver of our business, is increasingly becoming a service offering itself, as we can provide clients with customized FX risk management softwares, and also work with them to integrate their risk management into their existing ERP systems.

This requires continuing research into market behaviour under different volatilities and trends, as also the use of innovative hedge instruments as they are increasingly permitted by regulation. Jamal Mecklai

Managing Director

Jamal Mecklai graduated in chemical engineering from IIT Mumbai in 1972, having topped the all-India entrance exam in 1967. He conducted doctoral research in biomedical engineering at Rice University from 1972 to 1975. From 1975 to 1985, he worked as a freelance media consultant in the U.S., developing projects for organizations like New York City Public Schools.

Since 1986, he has been the MD of Mecklai Financial Services Ltd. and has built the company to market leadership. He has served on key RBI committees and has worked for other regulators and the Finance Ministry. He is a regular contributor to the media, both print and electronic and is a regular speaker at forums organized by industry chambers and private organizations. His ethos is best described as business is pleasure, work is play.

Dipti Chitale

Chief Executive Officer

Ms. Dipti Chitale, who has an MBA from Mumbai University with a specialization in international finance, has been with Mecklai Financial since 2005. She has grown from strength to strength and has executed comprehensive FX risk consulting assignments for well over 150 companies from a range of different industries, across both the private and public sectors, including for many of the leading business houses in India. She has developed considerable expertise in designing solutions tailored to complex risk profiles to achieve specific treasury objectives. Her key strength is the ability to merge business understanding with market acumen, which has made her one of the leading risk management consultants in the country today.



Ritesh Bhansali

Deputy Chief Executive Officer

Ritesh Bhansali has nearly 20 years of experience in financial markets in India, 11 of which have been with Mecklai Financial. His experience spans FX Risk Management Advisory, Hedging Strategies, Forex & Derivatives Sales, Trade Finance and Working Capital Requirements, Banking Consultation, Capital Markets & Trading Analysis, Price Forecasting and Portfolio Management. His wide domain knowledge and, importantly, passion for markets ensure quality consulting solutions that adds significant value to our clients. He has strong mentoring and relationship management skills. and has put together a dynamic result- and process-oriented team delivering consistent results.



Suraj Lala

Suraj Lala

Director and Head of Finance

Suraj Lala is a Chartered Accountant by profession with more than 20 years of experience in varied areas of accountancy, audit, taxation, finance and human resources; he also holds a diploma in IFRS from ACCA London. He has worked with corporates in different businesses from infrastructure to telecom to marine to BPO before joining Mecklai Financial Services Pvt. Ltd. (MFSPL) in 2007, where he has been a core member of the management team involved in planning and implementation of various strategic decisions.

He left the company in 2016 to start his own consultancy and audit firm, M/s Suraj Haresh & Associates, but remained closely associated with Mecklai. In 2019, he was appointed as an independent director on the board of MFSPL, and continues to provide strong support and guidance to the MD and the management team.

Gaurang Pandya is an experienced professional with over 18 years of experience in the IT industry. He holds a background in engineering and has been associated with Mecklai for 16 years, where he has played a pivotal role in delivering software solutions to clients. He brings a wealth of experience in providing Fin-Tech solutions.


Throughout his career, Mr. Pandya has focused on a broad spectrum of responsibilities, ranging from understanding business requirements to overseeing the full project management lifecycle. His expertise spans across working closely with clients to ensure seamless integration with their systems, ensuring that technical solutions align with strategic goals. His ability to bridge the gap between technical capabilities and client needs has made him a key asset in delivering high-quality, client-centric solutions.

Vice President Risk Advisory

Mr. M.V. Srinivasan, has vast experience having worked as an inter bank dealer on treasury desks of leading Indian as well as foreign banks such as Societe Generale and the Arab National Bank in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Currently he heads Mecklai Financial’s South Operation, advising clients on market strategy and leading a team of advisors across our office in Chennai. He is also a Fellow of the Association Cambistie Internationale (ACI), headquartered in Paris, which represents the interests of market professionals in the foreign exchange and money markets..
